The second week of January isn’t popular among many of us. With the festive period seeming like a distant memory, going back to school or work and the dreaded healthy eating resolutions – we are officially, as the saying goes; ‘Back to reality’.

With this being said, the New Year fills us with hopes and expectations of what it can bring –

  1. Lose weight – One of the most common New Year’s resolutions is to eat better, exercise more, and lose weight. After all of the roast dinners, chocolates and mince pies you’ve had this Christmas, it could be a struggle!
  2. Quit smoking – Smoking is a bad habit that can negatively impact both your lungs and your wallet. However, quitting can be a process that takes some people years. If you want 2015 to be the year you finally quit smoking, there are all kinds of products that can help wean you off and eventually go cold turkey.   3. Drinking less – As well as mountains of food being consumed over the Christmas period, the alcohol flow increases too. The scheme ‘Dry January’ has been introduced – its aim being, to leave the alcohol to one side throughout January – saving you money, giving your body time to refresh after the festive season and you’ll find that you feel more energised in the process!
  4. Save money & clear those debts – Whether you want to get out of debt, or start saving for that well deserved holiday or home improvement, there are lots of people who will be trying to spend their money more wisely in 2015. Drinking less and quitting smoking could be your first step to a fuller wallet!
  5. Learning a new language or skill – Learning a new skill can not only make you feel more confident, but it might even open up some new opportunities for you.
  6. Give to charity or start volunteering – Many people plan to be more generous with both their time and disposable income in 2015. Finding the time can sometimes be easier said than done, but it can be very rewarding if you’re able to!
  7. Travel – Want to see more of the world and experience new cultures in 2015? Tie this in with resolution number 4, start saving for what could be a life changing resolution!
  8. Sleep more and stress less! – If you want to be happier and healthier in 2015, getting a good night’s sleep is a great way to reduce stress and rise to meet the challenge of a new day.
  9. Achieve something monumental – For many people, 2015 is going to be the year they finally complete a monumental task. This could include goals like running a marathon, skydiving or to finally organise their wedding!
  10. Spend more time with family – A lot of people look back over the years and wish they’d spent more time with their loved ones. Why not take the afternoon off work and pay a visit to the Grandparents?
